Today the Minister for Lands and Forestry announced the Crown Land Management Act 2016 will come into force from 1 July 2018.

This key piece of legislation delivers a consolidated, consistent and more transparent framework for the management of Crown land.

As a feature of this legislation, the Community Engagement Strategy is now also approved by the Minister and will ensure greater community involvement in the decision making regarding Crown land.

Continuing to support greater transparency, the Minister has also announced the appointment of a Crown Land Commissioner who will work closely with community and stakeholders.
