I mean, all that happens is the following: Lee and Elle hang out Guys flirt with Elle without her realizing it Noah gets possessive and beats someone up; Elle gets mad Noah and Elle fight Noah and Elle make up and kiseing make out That process continually repeats itself over and over again. There's no change that occurs. The constant whiplash of the two romantic leads was irritating, and for Elle making a huge deal about how she had never kissed a guy before, she sure jumped ship quickly when she slept with Noah after only making out with him once.

Then, to top it all off, this book is problematic in terms of the main character keeps deciding to come back to see more unreliable, abusive idiot. So obviously our house fell down. To start this book off, we have Elle and Liam lay around not doing anything, cracking offensive jokes that rely on gender standards. So that was a fun twenty percent. Then, the kissing booth starts to come into play and they talk about it more and more and you have some more jokes about how boys can't wear dresses and girls can't like masculine things.

How it got adapted by Netflix? Unfortunately, my calculator does not compute these highly unrealistic, just simply stupid events. So we're just going to talk about why this is problematic. Basically, Noah's been going around telling boys that he'll hurt them if they ask Elle on a date. Not to mention the fact that he's threatening assault on people who did absolutely nothing. And that also plays a big theme throughout the book, but that's definitely not in the way it should. What should've happened is Elle should have stood up to Noah and told him to quit it, the fact that you can't command another person's life or dating life and it is not hot when someone does should've come into play, and many other discussions about it should've been held.
Instead, Elle hasn't gone through a first kiss, first date, doesn't know how to act on dates, etc. I'm not sure this could've gotten any more shallow. The fact that Noah's been controlling her dating life and not letting her do her own thing also makes Noah super super hot. There were also moments when Noah would force Elle into making out or doing whatever else when she had clearly said no. And that is a big no-no. N-O Noah. Can you say it with me? Since it's quite obviously this book has shown he has no idea what the meaning of that word is. I'm not even going to begin to dive into these shallow, self obsessed characters and this cringe-worthy writing, but to put it shortly, they were awful. Long story short, I hated this book and will never recommend it to anyone unless of course they're looking for a book to compete with their least favorite book.

As a whole, the story is "too been there, done more info kind, it's a very common story, when a girl is falling for her best friend's brother.
But what the book lacked strongly was the true essence of friendship and its bond between Elle and Lee, instead of shedding too much light on the immature teenagish love story between Elle and Noah. The characters are not at all close to reality, they lack honesty in their demeanor. I felt like reading about a bunch of fashion models who happen to the kissing booth goodreads movie full online fictional.
