It's true that there are lots of similarities between the book and the movie, but you wouldn't even notice it. I personally read the book after I watched the movie and at some points while reading it didn't felt like a book and some where you wouldn't even tell that the book was written based on the script.
The reason why I gave it four stars is because it was written based on the script, otherwise thre would've been 5. Tip, if you haven't watched the movie, read the book first. It's beautiful anyway, but it gives you another kind of joy if you haven't watched the movie. I was disappointed with this book. Hoping for a better elaboration of this story, which did not happen. I was expecting this book to fill in the gaps that movie did not cover. The ending with Noah showing up in a suit and Elle congratulating him for his job offers at two lawfirms. Nothing like the movie. The ending to the book and movie was awful. I'm not the only one that thinks so. Great book. I watched this movie and I couldn't oddly stop watching it. I saw the film on Netflix, thought it was cute and decided to read the continuing story. When comparing the characters to their iterations in the Netflix film, I don't know these people. Elle is not particularly likable. I get that she's young and learning about life, but frankly, she's kind of annoying and rather irrational. Not so much. I had high hopes for this book. I saw the movie on Netflix first then read the first book, both of which I loved. This book on the other this web page. I really struggled getting into it. Sorry to say it was a bit of a disappointment. The book version of Elle is annoying and whiny. She has no real depth to her. The last part of the book I just wanted to scream at them, just talk to each other and everything would be solved! Hope the sequel movie is better and we see more of the romantic bootg, not just whiny teen drama. I was disappointed that there was very little interaction between Elle and Noah. The end left a lot to be desired. Loved this book! Elle and Lee are in their senior year of college while Noah is across the country settling into college. All the ups and downs of a long distance relationship come kiasing play. The same goes for Noah. The problems that arise in this book also showcases how much they need to be able to communicate to make it work.
