The girls "chirped" all the time, the guys smirked and threw punches, and there were typos all over the place. Not to mention, the author set the book in California but is clearly British herself, and didn't bother to the kissing booth book series summary list any of the lingo or spelling Tell me, what California year-old wears jumpers and trousers? There was no character development and the whole thing just Don't read it. It was like reading poorly edited fanfiction. I haven't actually finished this book, but right now, I'm about to give up on it. Considering it's a Wattpad story, I'm not really surprised.
Don't get me wrong,; for a story originally posted on a site like WattPad, this is good, and I'm not surprised at the number of readers that it has on that site. Allow me to explain. I didn't find this story on WattPad; my mom told me about how a 17 year old had gotten the kissing booth book series summary list 3-book deal with Random House after the publishing company found her story online. Because of the fact that it was the publishing house, itself, that contacted HER, I thought that what I was going to be reading would be better than what it was. Master of the Universe did not impress me when it was fan fiction, and since James didn't make any changes when she actually published, I don't like the actual book either.
There ARE some really great fanfic writers out there, who I think would be amazing if they wrote their own work. However, despite this being an original story, Reekles is NOT one of those online writers that actually has impressive potential unfortunately. Her story is way too cliched. In the case of The Kissing Booth, it's just one big cliche that repeats itself over and over again. I mean, all that happens is the following: Lee and Elle hang out Guys flirt with Elle without her check this out it Noah gets possessive and beats someone up; Elle gets mad Noah and Elle fight Noah and Elle make up and then make out That process continually repeats itself over and over again. There's no change that occurs. The constant whiplash of the two romantic leads was irritating, and for Elle making a huge deal about how she had never kissed a guy before, she sure jumped ship quickly when she slept with Noah after only making out with him once.
I mean, really? And then, the next morning, she completely regrets it. Just, ugh I think I've made my point. First of all, let me say this: I get it. I understand why Elle fell for Noah. The hot bad boy who turned into a romantic guy. A lot of aspects were changed. But still, the most important things were kept. The movie gave me chills. Elle was such a naive girl and Noah was so misunderstood. But they were so perfect for each other! At least in the book they were. On screen, Noah was way too tall! And Elle could have been prettier. Still, the concept, the story: 5 stars! It really does turn people into saps. Can you imagine that this obssesion with the movie check this out the book started because I saw the movie trailer 3 days ago on Facebook?!
This book was pretty terrible. For many reasons. For brevity's sake, I will limit my review to one main reason it was terrible: it was written by a 17 year old girl. The writing was ok I'm being generous, because she is after all The main problem is a 17 year old girl can't write realistic fiction realistically. The author writes about exactly the kind of world that a 17 year old THINKS they live in: no rules, no accountability, no consequences. A world where you get want you want, just by wanting it. The world according to Kissing Booth: warning, the examples are spoilers-ish: 1. Noah gets into fights all the time with no consequences.
Tell me a high school in the country that does not suspend the kissing booth book series summary list fighting. Turns out Noah who is captain sefies the football team suddenly gets accepted to Harvard! Even though he never seems to study or worry about grades. Parents allow all sorts of things: underage drinking "Just don't do it again! Elle goes from never kissing a boy to sex with her best friend's brother in no time flat, all with little emotional fall out! Noah, although violent, super controlling, and emotionally manipulative changes! I blame Beauty read more the Beast for this one. Just be really really nice, and he will come around girls! Love conquers all, especially the love of teenagers! Obviously, I am not a fan. I would even go as far as to say, I think it's a little irresponsible. Kevin Irish Reader. This is much better than the movie!
I read this for the first time and was very surprised see more it is much better than the movie! Is bootu still an amazing book? No, but I can say it is better than the movie adaptation! These rules are in the movie between Elle and Lee, but in the book there is no rules at all. Author 5 books followers. The utter insipidity, the fundamental mediocrity of this, coupled with the fact that not only Random bought it, but Netflix made a film of it, and that millions of teens fell for it, gives me a major fright.
I mean. Thank God I regularly see several teenage readers here on GR who show a markedly higher bookk of erudition.
Oh dear. This book- this book was a mess to the point where I would legitimately tear it apart had it not been on my kindle. When you hear a bookworm saying that they would tear apart a book, that's your cue to leave this forever in the dusty not picked up pile. Honestly, this whole book was just making out, screaming at each other, fighting, and characters acting like all around stereotypical abusive teenagers. To put it simply. So you're got a shaky foundation. To add to that, I found read more a few typos and grammatical errors, and the author's writing style wasn't good to begin with.

So you're adding some cheap bones to that house. Then, to top it all off, this book is problematic in terms of the main character keeps deciding to come back to an unreliable, abusive idiot. So obviously our house fell down. To start this click at this page off, we have Elle and Liam lay around not doing anything, cracking offensive jokes that rely on gender standards. So that was a fun twenty percent. Then, the kissing booth starts to come into play and they talk about it more and more and you have some more jokes about how boys can't wear dresses and girls can't like masculine things. So even more fun there. After a bunch of build up and a whole title based off of it, the kissing booth runs. Elle kisses Noah.
