Every character — except for Rachel, I think — behaved like an absolute shithead. Lee especially disappointed me a lot. Why did he act like an asshole and lied not only to Elle but also to his girlfriend?! Just because he spent time with the football team?!?! Levi, a new character, was the only one I was rooting for. No efforts at all I was disappointed on this book because there was not excitement at all, not enough interesting moments between Elle, Levi et Noah to keep you hooked up. I swear it was such a rollercoaster ride and I couldn't put it down anymore. I felt love, hate, mistrust, disappointment, fear and heartbroken throughout the whole story, but it was so worth it for the future to become.
I know this probably the last big book but I kind of wish for more. Like always with a good source and amazing characters that I love! I like Levi as a new character and even though I was kind of uneasy of going the distance kissing booth 2 book everything is going with his and Elle's relationship I really liked how it ended and them being there for each other. Giving support to each other and families. In the trailer I could see that they changed several things, like Levi aka Marco in the movie is a sweet and shy guy in the book, but in the movie Marco is popular and a littl Oh boy! This book takes place a few month after Noah goes to college, we can see a slightly more mature Noah, though not very smart with some decisions and a not-so-sweet Lee, he was kind of a jerk sometimes, but he came around. The problems that arise in this book also showcases how much they need to be able to communicate to make it work. I wa surprised by how different this was from the film - I liked a lot of the storyline better. The relationship between Elle and Levi made a lot more sense, how to make matte lipstick look glossy without the lack of communication between Elle and Noah was also explained better.
I have to say though I really disliked Lee for a good chunk of this - I wanted to give him a good shake! Another quick, easy read that I enjoyed. I watched The Kissing Booth then read the book. I was underwhelmed as it wasn't the best quality and reeked of Wattpad and lacked style. I read Going the Distance in about three hours and was literally mouthing "What the heck. The conflicts of the book could be resolved within 5 minutes, and Elle is extremely self-centered. She freaks out over the smallest things instead of working things out. Noah has grown, I'll say that, but I disliked Elle so much. Going the Distance had no plot and kinda dagged along for a couple of hundred pages of fake conflict. It was terrible high school stereotypes compiled in one book without any originality. Happy Thursday! I hope your day is going well. And if it isn't, I hope that tomorrow or sometime soon, it gets better. Because I promise that it will get better. Maybe not today or tomorrow, but one day soon. There's a light at the end of the tunnel, and you have to keep going until you exit the tunnel.
Life gets rough, but we always find peace. Do things that make you happy, and above else, amor omnia vincent. I was disappointed that there was very little interaction between Elle and Noah.
