When you hear a bookworm saying that they would tear apart a book, that's your cue to leave this forever in the dusty not picked up pile. The characters are not at all close to reality, they lack honesty in their demeanor. I felt like reading about a bunch of fashion models who happen to be fictional. So many elements and layers lacked in this book, especially the cast of parental characters, who are supposed to play a strong role in the life of these teenagers, and the transition from having a mother to having no mother in the life of Elle is pathetically depicted in the book. Like I said, the characters lacked to show any kind of emotion, only teenagers action high on their hormones. Though, it did have its similarities. I found that a Going to start this review by saying that I did not know of this book's existence until the film on Netflix came out and I hadder obsessed with the storyline. I found gooddeads a few lines between the two were shared, which made me super excited. But, there were some scenes in the book I would've preferred that it had been in the film, but then there were scenes that were right off the page onto the screen. I think both materials are great on their own. The film has the same characters, same plot line, but a different line-up of events. The book, well, same thing, just some different events, again. I kind of liked Elle, like I felt a connection to her when she would speak, how she would act - I felt like I understood her reasoning for her actions and all. She was a good protagonist. But that's literally all I can say about her. She was cliche. Give it a bit reda a twist? Guess not lol. Lee was probably my favourite character of all. He was the most unproblematic, and understanding. He was her best friend and he was every best friend goal in one. He was sweet, helpful and always there for her.
