Most basses for example experience their break at C4 without work. That just comes with time and effort. Theres nothing wrong with singing tenor. The fact that you can go to C3 means to me that you are most likely an alto or a mezzo with a few alto notes. Near the top it is harder to tell, as head voice comes into play. My voice, if not forced, sounds even a bit lighter than usual and I tend to use a chest-head mix until near 5th octave afaik But my lower notes come easier than my higher ones probably because of lack of training and I seem to have a bit of a dark timbre hidden somwhere in my voice.
