The Land Sydney Royal AgShows NSW Young Woman Competition

The purpose of the competition is to identify ambassadors to promote the Sydney Royal Easter Show, and Agricultural Shows across New South Wales.  The program is designed to develop regional young women, to benefit the individual, the local show society, and their communities.  Interview, presenting, and networking skills are all strengthened.  This can create new life opportunities for participants.

Zone Finals

Are the next step in the Sydney Royal AgShows NSW Young Woman competition after being successful in becoming the Young Woman for your local Show.

The Zone Final is a regional competition to gain an opportunity to participate in the State Final held at the Sydney Royal Easter Show. The Zone Finals are all held at least four weeks before the Sydney Royal.

There is a Judging Score Sheet for the Zone Final.  There are points awarded for Personality, Confidence, Goals, General Knowledge, Rural Knowledge, Personal Presentation and Volunteer or Community Involvement.  This is assessed during an interview with the three judges, and lunch held with all Zone entrants and judges.  At the Zone Final Dinner there is an onstage interview that is worth 10% of the final score.

Ultimately the State Finalists are a result of the cumulation of the day and night activities.

Personal Development Weekends

Being chosen to represent your Show Society and then proceeding to the next level of the competition is a very rewarding and fun experience but it can also be a daunting one.

Show Societies can support and develop their Young Woman by enrolling them in a Personal Development weekend.  Attending one of these days/weekends might be the prize for being selected as a Young Woman or Runner Up.

Dubbo and Nowra Show Societies and Polish Works run Personal Development days/weekends for Young Woman entrants to boost confidence, personal, professional, and social skills.  Show Societies are encouraged to send their Young Woman and Runner Up to attend these valuable courses.  In addition to the personal and professional skills the young women will learn, they will also make some great friends with other like-minded young women.
